Members Not Attending: (8)
Gus Bigelow, John Bloom, Lynn Ellins, Steve Fischmann, Dolores Halls, Rose Garcia, Ron Gurley and Tamie Smith.
Guests 1. Call to Order: Steve Carter called the meeting to order at 12:03 PM. 2. Approval of December Meeting Minutes: The December Meeting Minutes were approved as amended. 3. Announcements: None. 4. Projects: A. State Common Cause – (Alex Burr) One of the issue that the New Mexico Common Cause is supporting Campaign Financing. Maybe this Tuesday the legislature will react to this issue. We (SNMCC) should react by energizing the voters. Albuquerque and Santé Fe both want it. B. NMSU Board of Regents – (John Lazaruk) See Attached Report. The NMSU Regents have a new WEB site. (Steve Carter) One of the new regents is son of one of the old Regents (Steve Anaya). The NMSU regents drew heavily from the Highlands University Board of Regents. C. Dona Ana County (Board of Commissioners) (Charles Welch) None D. Council (LAS CRUCES) – (Steve Carter) None. 5. Old Business – (Alex Burr) The Lt Governor, Diane Denish, is/was doing a good job of becoming the next Governor of New Mexico until Gov Richardson returned. I need a list of accomplishments. (Steve Carter) I am working on it. 6. Next Regular Meeting: February 18, 2009. 7. Adjournment: Steve Carter adjourned the meeting at 12:24 PM. Respectfully Submitted,
